Commissioned for the Ganghwa War Museum to mark the 150th anniversary of the 1871 U.S. Expedition to Korea (Shinmiyangyo), Shinmiyangyo 2021 is an educational exhibition documentary combining deep historical scholarship with modern visual post-production. Featuring academic insights from leading historical experts, our studio spearheaded the complete archival remastering and VFX motion graphics pipeline. We digitally restored and colorized 150-year-old black-and-white photographs—originally captured by U.S. Navy photographer Felice Beato—into high-definition visual assets, engineered 2D tactical motion graphics over 19th-century nautical charts to illustrate fleet trajectories through the Ganghwa Strait, and delivered a complete broadcast graphic package featuring custom calligraphic title sequences and lower thirds optimized for museum exhibition screens.
